  • Restroom access

With this information, you should be able to decide on the perfect option for you and your loved one this July 4.

Raleigh 4th of July Events Seniors Can Enjoy in 2025

The following five public gatherings are all accessible within a 25-minute drive from TerraBella Northridge, allowing you to take your loved one there and back on the same day. They are all scheduled to start before dusk, which is perfect for those who wish to return to the community before early evening.

Whichever you choose, however, make sure to bring a water bottle and a lawn chair, as most locations either require or allow this accessible option, especially for those in senior care.

Carter-Finley Stadium Fireworks Display

Starting at 6:00 p.m., Carter-Finley Stadium is reopening this year for the 4th of July fireworks display, a perfect and traditional way to celebrate the holiday with your loved ones, likely offering a reminder of your younger days. Don't worry about getting there too late, as the fireworks themselves don't begin until 9:30 p.m., but you can expect plenty of experiences to enjoy with your loved one before then.

For accessible parking, check out Gates A and B, where golf-cart shuttles are available to transport you to the stadium. You can then seek out good views at the stadium, making use of their bench seats with sturdy back support to ensure that the guest you have with you is comfortable. Online tips suggest that you may also bring portable seat cushions with you, which can be helpful for extended periods of sitting.

If you need to bring hearing protection or blankets, please place them in clear bags. You can expect them to be inspected upon arrival.

North Carolina State Capitol Independence Ceremony

If you prefer an earlier event, a traditional Raleigh Independence Day celebration will take place outside the State Capitol from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The event begins with the Raleigh Concert Band playing holiday-appropriate music, followed by several displays that showcase the history and current state of North Carolina.

The event includes:

  • Naturalization ceremonies for new citizens to the United States
  • Readings from the Declaration of Independence
  • Wreath-laying at the George Washington Memorial
  • Music by the local Raleigh Concert Band

Other events will take place on this day, so please check the event details online for more information.

Joel Lane Museum House Open House

The location will host a free walk-through from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., allowing people to learn more about the historic heritage site. You and your loved one can discover more about the location, listen to music, and watch demonstrations of old equipment. However, bring ear protection, as this includes old muskets!

Benches and chairs are scattered throughout the location, and there is no rush to get through, so take your time speaking with the interpreters and learning as much as you can. Then, discuss it with the person you are with in the evening before picking up a memorable keepsake and heading back to TerraBella Northridge.

NC Symphony Patriotic Pops at Symphony Lake

The free concert at Symphony Lake starts at 7:30 p.m., promising a beautiful set of music by the North Carolina Symphony. They will play several powerful pieces, each celebrating a different element of American history, both from movies and other sources.

The event will be held at the Koka Booth Amphitheatre in Cary, situated amid a large pine forest and on the edge of Symphony Lake. So, bring a camera to create memories and keepsakes that you can look at and share for a long time to come.

Wake Forest July 3 Fireworks Spectacular

If you cannot visit us on July 4 or would like to make a two-day event of it, consider the Wake Forest Fireworks Spectacular nearby. They actively encourage people to bring lawn chairs and blankets, expecting groups to have individuals just like your loved one. So, get ready for a family event, but don't forget to bring ear protection and water for your loved ones.
